I just wanted to tell you how pleased I am with my recent purchase of a Portland "Brass" model trumpet.
My 14-year-old son is starting lessons and I was looking for a dependable, good sounding instrument that
wouldn't break the bank. As a former serious cornet/trumpet player, I was a little skeptical of the quality
of the horn I was buying. After all, I was more familiar with the Bachs and Yamahas. But, after reading
the description on your website and speaking with a very helpful representative from your store, I felt
comfortable with my decision to buy the Portland. I'm glad I did! Five stars for product and service!

I recently purchased the Portland Soloist Clarinet from you. So far I am very pleased with the quality
and sound. I do have one question, what is the reed number of the two reeds that come with the clarinet?
The number is not printed on the back of them.Sincerely, Chad

I ordered a Silver Plated C Flute (~$200) at 5 pm last night (Thursday). As Jeff mentioned that it would take about 1 to 2 business days to deliver, I did expect it to arrive at Toronto (Canada) next Monday. Instead, DHL delivered it to my house at 11 am today. The flute sounds even better than the German branded flute (~$400 new) I bought for my daughter before. I am impressed by the quality of the product as well as the efficiency of your services - yes, I paid for DHL but you did a good job to send the product out the same day!

Sirs; I got my trumpet from you and one of my friends who plays a Yamaha said that I got
ripped off, then He tried it, Soon he asked where I got it and does not believe the price I
paid. I am not an expert on brass instruments, be he says he is, and he says he is
definitely impressed! He would not stop nagging me until I showed him your website, and
he still thinks that the price on your site is a typo. Needless to say, I am overjoyed and would
like to say on a personal note that despite the fact that I have only owned for a short while,
My portland trumpet has brought me hours and hours of joy.

Hi:, I recently purchased a Portland soloist clarinet from you for my daughter after her original
clarinet became damaged. I just wanted you to know that she is extremely pleased with her new
clarinet. She is first chair in the 8th grade band and has tried many of her friend's clarinets over the

Dear Mr. Kennedy and Mr. Walters, Thank you for all your invaluable service through our process
of purchasing our son's violin. We did receive the violin on Feb. 14th, and it became the prime focus
for the day. It was a wonderful Valentine's surprise for our son. Today, Saturday the 18th our son
took the instrument to his private instructor. Our son's instructor was very pleased with the violin.
He said it had very good tonal qualities and was "very sweet sounding". He appreciated that it was
set up very good, and after tuning played it beautifully. We are very happy with the violin that you
chose for us, and we will gladly call you for future needs. ( Our son's instructor said in about a

I have played (the Portland Trumpet) with both my Rudy
Muck mouthpiece and the 7C that came
with it. Both mouthpieces produce a warm sound. With my
Rudy Muck the upper range is clear
and brilliant. I am happy with the sound. I would certainly
recommend this horn to any player
student, intermediate or professional. Thank you for a

I am writing because you helped me in the purchase of
a violin for my daughter in the beginning of Feb.
I would like to thank you-I spoke with her music teacher
who was very impressed with the quality of the
instrument. The violins he buys cost more and he has
to set his own bridge/bridges(?) on them.
